The 15th Session of the Assembly of States Parties kicks off today at the Hague, November 16 though it will not be business as usual. Some African countries have stepped up a revolt against the Rome Statute saying that they are being targeted by the International Criminal Court. It all began with Burundi which announced its intention to withdraw from the Rome Statute, followed by South Africa. Earlier this month, Gambia became the third African country to give a formal notice to the United Nations of a pullout, that will take effect from the 10th of November 2017.
